A View of Vietnam is a piece written by a woman who lived with her husband, who was in the military, in Vietnam in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Jean Sillox travels with her husband and begins a new life in Vietnam as the war rages on around them. All throughout the story she speaks kindly of the Vietnamese people she meets and how the country is very beautiful. She does all this while echoes of far off explosions reverberate through the city giving the story an interesting duality.
