Prevailing Ideas About the Imprisoned
Class of 1984 student Michael Schlesinger shares his thoughts about Ursinus College’s relationship with Graterford Prison and how that might negatively affect the student body's safety before imploring the college to do more to protect its students. His target audience is both fellow students and faculty of Ursinus College, as he ostensibly wishes to get as many people as possible on his side to change the college's mind about forming a relationship with the prison. He likens the situation to a nuclear accident and calls inmates "society's degenerates," communicating that he harbors a great amount of ill will towards Graterford.
