Description An account of the resource "Bond is Back!" is a newspaper article which was written by Keir Lewis, published on March 6th, 1969 from the Ursinus Weekly. In the article, Julian Bond (who was a spokesperson and was involved in the organization, NAACP and the a founding member of the National Committee to free Soviet Jewry. Title A name given to the resource Facing segregation in the 21st century through campus programs Subject The topic of the resource Facing segregation in the 21st century through campus programs Description An account of the resource “Facing segregation in the 21st century through campus programs” was written by Tom Nucatola and was published on March 24, 2011, in the Ursinus Grizzly. Mr. Nucatola argues that SPINT housing and the W.R. Crigler Institute program (formerly The Bridge Program) promote self-segregation and are inherently racist. He states that these programs are racist because “they assume that minority students cannot be successful without significant and special support from Ursinus College.” Mr. Nucatola then brings his attention to the “SPINT dilemma” which he believes to have contributed to segregation at Ursinus. He believes that the communities who live in SPINT housing specifically for “gay people” and “minorities” are problematic. He fears that these houses allow for the “communities” which he clarifies, later on, is the minorities on campus, is using the housing to seek protections in the confines of the shared place of residence. He says that despite them not having labels that say “gay only” or “minorities only”, they have become a place where minorities only live therefore contributing to segregation on the Ursinus College. In the end, he makes an ask Ursinus College to end these policies and to embrace all students as individuals and not by their race or sexuality. Title A name given to the resource Michele Connell McLennan Subject The topic of the resource Michele Connell McLennan Eulogy Description An account of the resource This eulogy commemorates Dr. McLennan who was an Associate Professor of Business and Economics at Ursinus College. She was a tenured professor at the college and received the Spencer Foundation Grant to study gender specific education in the Philadelphia Public School system. In May 2005, she was the recipient of the Lindbak Award for excellence in teaching. She taught the first elective from the Business and Economics Department which was later included in the AAAS minor. Dr. McLenna taught the course before AAAS was a minor. Dr. Vangilder resumed teaching the course after Dr. McLennan in 2006-2007, working in collaboration with Ms. Ussery in the Anthropology Department who was the coordinator of the AAAS Department at the time.
