Roving Reporter on double standard for sororities
Pledging
Student responses to whether or not there is a double standard with how sororities are treated by administration. These interviews were in response to faculty being allowed to visit sororities pledging activities due to a sorority being caught performing illegal activities, while fraternities did not have the same repercussions.

Fraternity Pledging Marred by Bad Reports, 1981
Student, faculty, and administration perspectives on pledging fraternities in 1981.
Students pledging fraternities feel that professors look upon them negatively, because of the stigma attached to fraternities. The faculty complain that pledges fall asleep during classes frequently and are subjected to "degrading" behavior. Housekeepers have also reported suspicious activity including excess mud and garbage in the basements of dormitories, beer bottles and broken glass have been found near Patterson field. All of these actions are prohibited throughout the fraternal pledging process. There have also been police incidence with pledges being caught stealing items from other fraternities, sororities, and noise complaints. Dean Rebuck states that every single fraternity has been reported for suspicious activities with the exception of two organizations.
