Presidential Poll Shows A Landslide for Hoover
Subject
The topic of the resource
Presidential Election of 1932
Description
An account of the resource
The majority of Ursinus students, 268, voted for the Republican ticket (Hoover), while a strong minority, 154 in all, voted for the Socialist and Democratic tickets. This election marked a major shift in the political identity of the student body of Ursinus. Prior to 1932, the majority of students attending Ursinus were conservative, and while this remained the case for this presidential election, more students than ever before showed support for the left.
